HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

What a fun weekend!  Scott, Jackson and I headed out on Saturday morning to find the perfect pumpkins.  I know, the day before Halloween is a little late to be shopping for pumpkins but time just slipped through my fingers and that's what happened.  We went to Eveland Family Farm in Andover.  What a great place!!  We went mostly for the pumpkins but I'd heard about the animals and Eveland didn't disappoint.  There were animals everywhere -- donkeys, pot-bellied pigs, alpacas, goats, chickens, miniature horses and sheep.  The best part is that several of them were just roaming around the property.  Obviously they are used to people and were great with Jackson, even the pot-bellied pig that he just couldn't get enough of.  We spent the morning looking at all the animals and picking out the perfect pumpkin and topped it off with lunch at their little lunch stand.  It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun!

Scott and Jackson checking out the pot-bellied pig.  That thing was huge!

Wait piggy!  Please come back!

Eveland had several miniature horses.  They were so cute!

Jackson is a huge fan of the chickens.

Checking out the goats

...and the alpacas.

Jackson wasn't so sure about the donkeys.  When Jackson tried to pet one, it turned it's head and took a step toward him.  I guess that was too scary and Jackson charged off in the opposite direction.

Time to pick out our pumpkins!  Jackson had so much fun with the pumpkins.  He was running all over, looking at all of them.  One of the cutest things he would do is try to pick them up, especially the big ones.

Big fan of the wagon too!

I've got mine Mom!

For Halloween, Jackson was the cutest dinosaur ever to walk this earth.  But, I may be a little biased.

I don't know if you know this or not but dinosaurs are big fans of books!

We didn't go out trick-or-treating, basically because Jackson doesn't know what it is, can't say "trick or treat" and can't eat the candy, which pretty much defeats the purpose.  We did go over to Carol and Casey's house to try to give them a scare.

Our adorable dinosaur!

On Friday at Jackson's daycare, they had a Halloween party too.  He got all dressed up and came home with a big bag of treats.  Here he is checking out the loot.

Look at the cool sticker, Mom!  Thankfully he only tried to eat it once -- he was unsuccessful.

October was so much fun!  It was highlighted at the beginning with a trip to the apple orchard and at the end by all the Halloween festivities.  In between we enjoyed the beautiful weather with trips to the park and college football.

Some of Jackson's favorite things this month -- pointing to his nose, ear, hand, foot when you ask him about each body part, running around the yard and pointing to the cars when they drive by, reading books (always a favorite), taking baths and playing with his trucks.

He is such a climber too!  He can now climb up on the coffee table (not something I am thrilled with) and the dining room chairs.  I'm getting worried that it won't be too long before he starts trying to climb out of his crib.

In the meantime, we're enjoying watching him grow and change and develop.  He's becoming such a little boy with the most adorable devilish grin (especially when he knows he's just done something he shouldn't have done).  One of my best friends once told me that every stage of development becomes your favorite -- you'll think to yourself, it can't possibly get better than this, and then it does.  He's such a source of joy for Scott and me.  We're so very lucky!
